The 21 halls and meeting rooms can be combined or transformed to suit your needs, whether this is for a traditional business meeting or a multimedia product launch. Seated or open spaces, working configurations or banquet-style, the flexibility and diversity of the Calabar ICC facilities allow you to create a memorable event.

  • The venues in the Calabar ICC consist of flat floor congress halls and meeting rooms or suites, offering unlimited flexibility in room set-ups.
    These range from:
    • Maximum capacity theatre configuration for a large plenary session
    • Classroom set-up for breakaway sessions
    • Round table banqueting set-up for a gala dinner
    • Flat floor empty space to hold an exhibition or trade fair
    • Opportunities for a more creative room set-up.
  • Larger meetings will typically take place on the first level (Level 1), where the Main Hall is located. This has a flat floor of 1,500 square metres and a fixed balcony that can host 500 delegates.
  • When filled to capacity, the Main Hall can accommodate 2,000 delegates.
  • A variable stage can be erected as required
  • The Main Hall will be equipped with eight translation booths for simultaneous translation.
  • Also on the first level of the Calabar ICC is Hall A,which hosts a maximum of 900 delegates and Hall C, which holds a maximum of 650 delegates
  • Both halls have flat floors and can be subdivided with soundproofed, movable walls into Halls A1 and A2 or C1 and C2.
  • Smaller meetings and breakaway sessions will take place in one of the 12 meeting rooms, of which almost all are located on the ground floor (Level 0) apart from Meeting Room A1.5 which is located on the first level of A wing.
  • The capacity of the meeting rooms varies from approximately 70 to 100 delegates. However, many of the meeting rooms can be combined into larger spaces of two, three or even four rooms, which increases capacities up to 280 delegates. Events in the meeting rooms can make use of the spacious foyers adjoining the rooms for delegate registration as well as for tea and coffee breaks. The contemporary styled foyers provide a spectacular view of the Calabar River and the stunning landscape around the Calabar ICC.
  • Committee meetings, board meetings, etc., can be held in one of the three Meeting Suites (B0.5, B0.6 or B0.7) or in the VIP Room, all of which are situated on the ground floor of B wing. The capacity of those meeting suites varies from 10 delegates to approximately 25 in the case of the VIP Room.

  • Calabar ICC service contractors are onsite 24/7 to assist clients in regard to in-house services and facilities, including IT, multimedia set-up, safety and security.
  • The venue hire of the Main Hall includes a basic sound system and projection facilities.
  • TheCalabar ICC’s in-house business partner can assist with sound, lighting and video projection, including working with external radio and television stations or web streaming providers.
  • Throughout the Calabar ICC, delegates will have access to free broadband Wi-Fi. The IT back- bone of the centre has ample fibre optic capacity to deal with the high demand.
  • The Calabar ICC provides the best possible connections to Nigerian cell phone networks. The centre also has its own PABX telephone landline management system if a wired landline connection is required.

  • The Calabar ICC does not have its own stand building department, but our event managers are happy to introduce you to a selection of Nigeria’s experienced exhibition contractors.
  • The Calabar ICC does have its own exclusive suppliers of electrical and plumbing services who are ready to assist.

  • Cleaning of all public areas and meeting venues will be undertaken by the Calabar ICC cleaning team, since this service is covered in the venue hire cost. Only in exceptional cases, such as exhibitions or other events where more than normal waste is produced, will the event organiser be charged for additional work undertaken by the Calabar ICC cleaning team.

  • The Calabar ICC has its own in-house security team that takes care of the security in and around the Calabar ICC, including entrance and exit access.
  • Security cameras are placed at all strategic positions in the Calabar ICC and managed by the security team. The Calabar ICC security team does not, however, assume responsibility for the security of meetings and events, unless specifically engaged to do so. It is the responsibility of the event organiser to either engage the Calabar ICC security management to extend their services into the event venues or arrange for an alternative, approved solution.

  • The Calabar ICC has an arrangement with a number of medical service providers in Calabar to provide medical care as and when required by clients and visitors to the centre. If organisers of events prefer to have a dedicated medical care unit on duty for the duration of an event, the Calabar ICC will be happy to arrange this.

  • Electrical power can be supplied in each of the Calabar ICC venues.
  • In the case of exhibitions in the Main Hall or Halls A and C on Level 1, a floor power grid will provide for the needs of exhibitors.
  • The exclusive supplier of electrical services at the Calabar ICC will provide distribution boards and organisers will be charged for electrical consumption during exhibitions and special events.
  • Normal electrical consumption during congresses is included in the venue hire.
  • Water and drainage is supplied at specific locations. If exhibitors require a water supply at an event this should be requested.

  • Delicious Calabar cuisine, personal service and a variety of inspiring contemporary venues – some with breathtaking views over the Calabar River – make a lunch, dinner, tea or coffee break an unforgettable experience.
  • The Calabar ICC chefs are experienced and have worked at some of the best hotels and restaurants both in Nigeria and internationally.
  • Whatever the client budget allows, the Calabar ICC culinary team will surprise with creative ideas, spectacular presentations, the best local produce and delicacies. Our event managers will go the extra mile to discuss all the various options available, from a spectacular gala dinner to a “no frills” congress lunch.
  • Our Food & Beverage team will take into account the guest mix at the event, including religious and cultural requirements and F & B budgets.
  • Thanks to the excellent logistics and distribution systems at the Calabar ICC, the F & B team is able to serve large numbers of guests in a short period of time. The kitchen at the Calabar ICC is one of the largest in Nigeria, and is equipped with the latest catering and preparation facilities that meet the highest international standards.
  • Appropriate venues for breakfasts, lunches and dinners for larger groups are the Main Hall, Halls A and C and Foyers A and C.
  • We can also cater for more intimate occasions such as a culinary evening in our VIP Room or even a cooking class in the pastry kitchen.
  • Room rental rates include the use of the specific venue from 06h00 in the morning till midnight, as well as the services of the Calabar ICC Duty

  • The Calabar ICC has an extensive, secure parking area at the rear of the convention centre, managed by a parking team. The parking area has a capacity of 700 vehicles and number plate recognition cameras have been put in place at the entrance to the Calabar ICC car park in order to provide extra security for visitors.

  • In the case of transporting event materials and exhibits to the centre, clients can call upon a qualified freight forwarding company that is a business partner of the Calabar ICC.

  • Calabar’s Margaret Ekpo International Airport is well-connected with Lagos and Abuja and from these hubs on to the rest of Africa, Europe and the USA.
  • Arik Air and Aero Contractors run daily services between Calabar and Lagos or Abuja. Flights to Calabar typically take less than an hour.

  • In addition to the new 4-star Hotel adjoining the Calabar ICC and the Tinapa Lakeside Hotel across the river, the city offers a range of accommodation establishments, from smaller boutique hotels to 3-star business hotels. In all, the city is able to offer some 4,000 rooms.
  • The Tinapa Business Resort and entertainment precinct is connected to the Calabar ICC by a two-minute monorail ride across the river, which itself offers stunning views and scenery.
  • Many hotels in Calabar have used the opportunity provided by the Calabar ICC to upgrade their hospitality facilities.
  • Cross River State members of the Hotel Managers Association of Nigeria have a close working relationship with the Calabar ICC and are geared up to discuss allotment of hotel rooms with Calabar ICC clients.
